As a Panel Team Lead, Peter Nimalan has been an integral part of Tayco for more than 30 years. Leading his production Team with consistency, care, and experience, he helps ensure every product meets Tayco’s high standards for quality and efficiency while supporting those around him to succeed.
Throughout his career, Peter has taken pride in contributing to projects that have shaped Tayco’s growth. One standout moment was helping launch the production of Switch panels, a milestone that strengthened the company’s manufacturing capabilities and highlighted the power of teamwork.
For Peter, the best part of coming to work is the people. He values the strong friendships and supportive culture within his Team, where everyone works together toward a common goal. - Who are you & what is your role at Tayco?
My name is Peter Nimalan, and I’ve been with Tayco for over 30 years. I currently work as a Panel Team Lead, where I help oversee production and support my Team to ensure quality and efficiency every day. - What’s a typical day like for you?
My day starts by making sure production is running smoothly and supporting my Team throughout the day. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family, especially my two children, and relaxing by watching Tamil movies and TV shows. - What has been a highlight moment in your role so far?
One of the projects I’m most proud of was helping start the production of Switch panels about five years ago. It was a great opportunity to contribute to the growth of our production capabilities and work closely with the Team to make it successful. - What advice has shaped your career?
Always show up on time, keep a positive attitude, and finish your work in a timely and professional manner. - What do you enjoy most about working with your Team?
We have a very friendly and hardworking Team. Everyone supports one another, and working together makes every day enjoyable. It feels more like working with friends than just coworkers. - What’s a TV show or movie you can watch over again?
I enjoy watching all kinds of movies and TV shows, but I especially enjoy action films and Tamil movies. - What’s something on your bucket list?
My biggest goal is to provide a bright future for my children, help them achieve their dreams, and see them become successful in life. - What’s a hobby you’ve picked up recently?
I enjoy watching cricket, watching movies, cooking, and travelling whenever I get the chance. - If you could have coffee with anyone, living or historical, who would it be?
My parents. I would love the opportunity to spend more time with them and thank them for everything they have done for me. - What motivates you, both professionally and personally?
My greatest motivation is providing for my two children and making sure they have everything they need to succeed and build successful futures.
