Amphenol Case Study

The Challenge

Amphenol, one of the world’s largest providers of high-technology interconnect, sensor and antenna solutions in variety of markets including Automotive, Broadband Communications, Information Technology and Data Communications, Military, Mobile Devices and Mobile Networks, were looking to outfit their brand-new office building. Amphenol wanted their space, including the furniture to feel fresh and modern. They wanted the solution to be functional with featuring high-quality, timeless design. Tayco Dealer, Transitions provided the perfect solution, using Tayco furniture to address the functional and stylistic needs of Amphenol.

The Solution

The project consisted of Tayco’s Switch systems and Scene casegoods product lines for a total of 61 workstations, nine private offices, two Norris boardrooms, a standing height Halifax table, and one Koko table for the bistro area.

The new building’s stunning exterior, offering large-scale windows illuminated the space with natural light. In addition to workstations that fit each worker’s unique functions, Amphenol also wanted to ensure that the furniture did not interfere with natural lighting. Switch panels were chosen at 42” H with 8”H panel-mounted clear glass blades to allow ample light flow.

In the open office, Amphenol required each station to have storage and ample work surface space. To keep the light modern feel, credenzas with white cabinets were installed for storage. Each workstation was specified in Mojave laminate, Cyan Blue fabric panels with silver trim, and gallery panels in white laminate. Transitions also specified the clamp on the power module, allowing easy access for laptops and phone charging.

To provide a cohesive look, the Scene private offices were installed in white laminate, each with a large credenza cabinet, silver dual monitor arms, and Volley height-adjustable desks. The private offices offer ample storage options and extra flexibility and comfort.

Finally, three collaboration tables were installed, including one 12-foot-long Halifax table in matching Mojave laminate and Cooper metal finishes installed in the Bistro, and two Norris boardrooms in complimentary Megantic laminate in the meeting rooms. These tables encourage additional collaboration and teamwork while maintaining a modern and timeless appearance.

The Result

Tayco and Transitions worked together to provide an exquisitely modern and distinctive look for Amphenol’s new building. It was the first time Amphenol used Tayco furniture, and they are so delighted with the final result that they will likely use Tayco again as they expand to require additional stations, offices, and collaborative areas.
