The Challenge
The University Academic Pension Fund was preparing to furnish a newly renovated workplace while working within a carefully managed budget. As a new Tayco Client with no previous experience specifying Tayco products, the Team was looking for a solution that delivered modern aesthetics, dependable quality, and functionality, all while meeting project timelines and remaining affordable.
A key requirement throughout the project was ergonomic flexibility. The Client wanted every employee to have access to height-adjustable functionality, paired with practical storage solutions that supported day-to-day work without overwhelming the footprint of the space. The workplace needed to balance performance and simplicity, creating environments that felt modern, organized, and comfortable for employees.
Material selection was equally important. With new interior finishes already established throughout the space, the furniture package needed to complement the updated environment and contribute to a cohesive, polished aesthetic. Every application, from private offices and workstations to meeting areas and the boardroom, needed to feel intentional and visually connected.
Rather than simply furnishing a new office, the goal was to create a modern workplace that delivered ergonomic functionality and long-term value while respecting the realities of a modest budget and an accelerated move schedule.
The Solution
Working closely with RGO and the Tayco Project Management Team, Tayco delivered a workplace solution designed around three core priorities: affordability, ergonomic performance, and aesthetic consistency.
To support employee wellness and flexibility, height-adjustable functionality was integrated throughout the workplace. In private offices, Volley Height Adjustable Tables paired with practical storage components, including wardrobe towers and underdesk pedestals, created ergonomic environments that support movement throughout the day while maintaining organization and efficiency. Norris meeting tables within executive spaces provided additional areas for informal conversations and collaboration without increasing the overall footprint of the offices.
Within the open plan, Switch workstations were designed to provide employees with both individual focus and flexibility. Extended work surfaces, Kubo personal storage towers, and mobile pedestals offer practical storage while maintaining a clean and organized workstation footprint. Integrated power components support technology needs, while Switch fabric panels and Nori Echo PET privacy screens introduce visual softness, acoustic comfort, and a sense of personal space within the open environment.
Throughout the workplace, a cohesive material palette creates continuity between applications. New Fogo Harbour laminate introduces warmth and richness to the space, while black painted accents and Horizon black hardware provide crisp architectural contrast. Pebble Ballo fabric and Nori PET elements add texture and depth, helping the workplace feel modern and inviting while complementing the Client’s newly finished interiors.
Professional gathering spaces were equally important to the overall experience. A large boardroom table with integrated technology supports formal meetings and presentations, while smaller meeting tables create more casual environments for one-on-one conversations and quick discussions. Together, these applications provide employees with a variety of spaces that support both focused work and collaboration.

The completed University Academic Pension Fund workplace is a modern, functional environment that maximizes value without compromising quality or employee experience.
Warm woodgrain surfaces, layered textures, and black architectural details create a workplace that feels cohesive, professional, and welcoming.
