Layla Landscape’s North American debut is marked with a 2009 IIDEX Innovation Award. TORONTO, September 30, 2009 – Boss Design Inc, a North American joint venture between Tayco and Boss Design, was honoured with a bronze Innovation Award in the lounge chairs and sofas category for its Layla Landscape modular seating system at IIDEX/NeoCon Canada 2009, held in Toronto, Ontario last week.
“Layla Landscape is a highly versatile sofa system at the cutting edge of design. It offers superb levels of comfort and is a statement piece for any image-led corporate environment,” says Andy Watson, Director of Sales for Boss Design. “Achieving this award is testament to the product’s contemporary design.”
“Being recognized with an Innovation Award for Layla Landscape indicates that we’re introducing the right products to support the A&D community,” says Dakota Kasdorf, Director of Design for Tayco. “The initial response to Landscape, and the entire Boss Design product line-up, in North American has been incredible. This excitement will be fostered as we continue to bring forward-thinking products to market.”
Designed by Boss Design’s internal product design team, Layla Landscape features a concise collection of modular units. Each module is equipped with a sequence of magnets, enabling the units to be easily and neatly aligned without the use of any tools. A complementary line of coffee tables is also available. The collection’s appeal is in its geometric forms and sophisticated aesthetic.
Since partnering with Tayco to bring its seating products to North America, Boss Design has been the recipient of three other awards: gold Innovation Award for Mars, and bronze Innovation Award for Kruze at IIDEX/NeoCon Canada 2008, as well as an Editor’s Choice award for Kruze at NeoCon 2009.

Tayco achieves GREENGUARD certification for Metropolis collection - July 10, 2009 TORONTO, July 10, 2009 - Tayco Panelink Ltd. and the GREENGUARD Environmental Institute (GEI) today announced that Tayco has attained GREENGUARD Certification for indoor air quality on its Metropolis collection of laminate casegoods.

Boss Design is launched in the North American market - June 12, 2009 TORONTO, June 12, 2009 - Boss Design is pleased to announce a joint venture with Tayco, which will see a selection of Boss Design branded seating products manufactured out of Toronto, Ontario, Canada and distributed throughout the North American market.
Boss Design is a leading UK design and manufacturers of quality seating for the corporate marketplace. Since 1983 the company has experienced continued growth such that it is a significant international supplier today and now has a presence in North America.

Susan Szenasy reinforces the importance of ethics in design - May 14, 2009 TORONTO, May 14, 2009 - – Tayco, together with ASID, was host to Susan Szansy, editor-in-chief of Metropolis Magazine, as she emphasized the designer’s responsibility for making ethical choices.
Focusing on social, environmental, and economical ethics, the seminar was the second in the educational series the focuses on the designer’s role in changing the planet. “Susan’s real world examples were very effective in calling attention to ethics in design,” says Murray Archer, Tayco’s Director of Distribution. “The case studies presented in this lecture illustrated how much power that designers have in creating more positive environments.”
