When moving to their new corporate location in Chicago, Weber Shandwick required new furniture that was designed for the user’s needs and to accommodate the large number of employees. Workstations were to perform a collaborate environment for general staff. Private offices were to allow for semi-collaboration with privacy when needed. Tayco’s Up was chosen for the vertical and horizontal flexibility of the system and for Tayco’s ability to manufacture custom pieces that were required to coordinate with the Up system.

Mozilla moved to a larger space when employees needed more brainstorming space, open areas for collaboration, and hotel stations for visitors. The key to this space was to be fun and functional, and Up answered the call. As a non-for-profit agency, for the OACAS, price & value were of great importance. Matching the spec was imperative to meet the design team's criteria to fit within a 100+ year old heritage building renovation. The selected manufacturer would have to be able to respond to many challenges that a heritage building has such as unlevel floors, oddly placed columns, HVAC & electrical locations, etc. Tayco’s ability for ‘specials’ in sizes and configuration was a perfect fit.

When moving to their new location, the HRPA wanted to minimize private office requirements and update their overall aesthetic. The high panels of their old workstations blocked out natural light and communication between employees. Tayco’s Cosmopolitan system allowed for lowered panels and sliding glazed doors to increase collaboration while still giving personal privacy and access to natural light from windows.

The fourth largest life and health insurance company in Canada, Industrial Alliance is at the head of a large financial group, which has operations across Canada as well as in the Western United States. When The Agenda with Steve Paikin, a popular daily television program on TVO required a fresh new look, set designer Kathleen Climie and her assistant Zana Ancerl turned to Tayco and Boss Design. Having worked with Tayco in the past, Zana knew that Tayco would be the perfect solution to modernize the look and feel of the set. The set was outfi tted with 3 Kruze chairs upholstered in luxurious fabric with a sophisticated Black American Walnut veneer back, which coordinated perfectly with the theme and overall aesthetic of the set.

Founded in 1937 by the Sisters of St. Francis of Assisi, Cardinal Stritch University in Milwaukee is a comprehensive and coeducational facility for higher learning with an array of undergraduate and graduate programs. The original library housed old wooden private study carrels, similar to telemarketing stations, and were traditionally designed for textbook and writing usage with no room for modern laptops, or electronic devices. The university wanted to update their library facility to eliminate the ‘traditional’ library look and provide a contemporary environment conducive to leaning and encourage students to come to the library to study, read and work.

The Research Park is a self-sustaining innovation centre, which focuses on facilitating the creation, integration and application of innovative solutions for the region’s constituents. With the lack of space and the growing desire to expand, the Research Park was seeking more private offi ce space while bringing more natural light into the overall space and maintaining a small footprint. The space transitioned beautifully with 278 Cosmopolitan workstations featuring both 69” panel heights, offering visual and acoustic privacy, as well as low panel heights and glazed elements offering a modern, light aesthetic.

Starting as a small creative agency in Asia with a staff of 54, INNOCEAN has now expanded to employ over 300 people worldwide. When their west-end Toronto studio required furnishing, INNOCEAN turned to Tayco and Boss Design. The space was outfitted in the Up post and beam system for their private offices, meeting rooms, and open plan, while a selection of Boss Design seating products were used to resolve task, executive, conference, guest and lounge applications. The distinctive orange of INNOCEAN’s corporate identity was injected as an accent color throughout the furniture layouts.

EasyHome is Canada’s largest merchandise lease company, and the third largest in North America, offering top-quality, brand name household furnishings, appliances and home electronic products to consumers under weekly or monthly lease agreements. After acquiring a new space, EasyHome desired a departure from their traditional cubicles and were seeking a furniture system that would facilitate an open, friendly environment. EasyHome’s previous experience with Tayco, lead them to choose the Up post and beam system for their open office. They needed a leg-based system with a 120-degree configuration capability and that would meet a tight budget. Wiley examined a number of office furniture companies and chose Tayco because the products are versatile and custom solutions were easy to implement, the staff at Tayco demonstrated a high degree of knowledge in office systems furniture and were eager to help clients meet their objectives, and finally because the price was competitive. The new open concept floor plan is comfortable to work in for employees and inviting for clients. While open concept planning worked well for most employees at Wiley, editors required a private space to work in. Tayco resolved this with Cosmopolitan’s sliding door, which created a space that enables editors to concentrate, while still giving them access to natural light.
